Taste of Dallas 2026: The food festival worth your calories

Taste of Dallas is back and it's the best food festival in DFW. Here's what to know.

Details:

  • Date: June 2026 (exact dates TBD, usually second weekend in June)
  • Location: Fair Park, Dallas
  • Admission: $15-25. Taste tickets sold separately ($1 per ticket, dishes cost 3-10 tickets).
  • Source: tasteofdallas.org

What to expect:

  • 50+ DFW restaurants serving sample portions
  • Live cooking demonstrations
  • Live music on multiple stages
  • Cocktail and craft beer garden
  • Kids' activities

Strategy (from a veteran attendee):

  1. Go hungry. Really hungry. Skip lunch.
  2. Buy 40+ taste tickets. You'll use them. Dishes average 4-6 tickets each.
  3. Start at the back of the venue — most people stop at the first booths. Lines are shorter farther in.
  4. Share everything with your group. 4 people x 10 samples each = 40 different tastes.
  5. Pace yourself. Marathon, not a sprint.
  6. Bring cash as backup. Some vendors prefer it.

Previous standout restaurants:

  • Pecan Lodge (BBQ samples)
  • Uchi (sushi bites)
  • Meso Maya (street tacos)
  • TJ's Seafood (lobster bites)

Last year's Pecan Lodge booth was serving brisket burnt ends. For 4 taste tickets. That's $4 for what would cost $25 at the restaurant. Best deal of the festival.

Taste of Dallas pro tip: the restaurant booths near the back have NO LINE by 7pm while the front booths still have 20-minute waits. Work back to front.

Go on Sunday afternoon if possible. Saturday evening is the most crowded time. Sunday afternoon has shorter lines and the same food.
