I've been fully remote for 2 years. My company just announced a "hybrid" return — 3 days in office. Which means I now need to commute 45 minutes each way, pay for gas, buy lunch, and wear pants. All to sit on Zoom calls from a different chair.
I'm seriously considering finding a new fully remote role instead of going back. The quality of life improvement from remote work is massive. No commute, more sleep, eat at home, actually see my family.
Anyone else drawing the line here? Or am I being unrealistic thinking fully remote will last?
Left my hybrid job for a fully remote one. Took a small pay cut but the savings on gas, parking, lunch, and wardrobe made it net positive. Zero regrets.
