Born and raised in Oak Cliff. Know this city inside and out.
Reata rooftop in Fort Worth with a Texas margarita at sunset. If you haven't done this, you haven't lived in DFW.
Fort Worth is geographically massive — 350 square miles. That's twice the size of Dallas proper. Patrol coverage is inherently thin.
DART should be free. Revenue from fares is a tiny fraction of the budget. Making it free would double ridership and reduce traffic. Fund it entirely through the sales tax that already supports it.
Happened to us in Plano. Amazon was actually helpful when we reported it. They traced it to a third-party seller who got banned.
Austin people who moved there in 2015 and complain about newcomers in 2026... that's literally what you did. Glass houses.
The Ginger Man is a Dallas institution. 30 years, no TVs, great beer. It's where you go when you want to actually talk to people.
Spartan Race in DFW is a great goal for anyone who's been lifting and running but wants a new challenge. Train for 3 months, do the Sprint (5K). You'll be hooked.
Power just went out in Benbrook. Hail is insane right now, baseball sized.
The Firestone lifetime alignment deal is a must in DFW. Our roads destroy alignment. Pays for itself in 2 visits.
DFW on a Saturday now has SEC, Big 12, and ACC games involving local alumni. The sports bar TV negotiations are going to get heated.
Year 2 is the real test. Klopp built relationships with these players over years. Slot is running on goodwill and novelty. When results dip, that is when we will see if the dressing room is with him.
Mexican Sugar in Plano is the suburban happy hour king. $5 tacos are legit — not tiny either.
Rachio smart sprinkler controller pays for itself in one summer. Auto-skips watering when it rains, follows DFW water restrictions, and my lawn still looks great.
Google Maps is already showing it red. Took Harry Hines instead, added 20 minutes but at least moving.
The Grapevine is a Dallas institution. Cash only though, heads up.
Hamilton at 41 is still faster than 80% of the grid. His qualifying pace has dropped but his race management is better than ever. He wins races with tire strategy, not raw speed.
Fun fact: the High Five cost $261 million to build and my commute still takes 55 minutes.
Shopping 3+ lenders for pre-approval saved me 0.375% on my mortgage rate. On a $350K loan, that's $35,000+ saved over 30 years.
freeCodeCamp is legit and completely free. I spent 6 months on it before my bootcamp and it gave me a massive head start.
Dashcam with parking mode is the move. My Viofo caught the guy on camera. DPD still didn't do anything but at least I had footage for insurance.
Common Desk in Deep Ellum is my remote office. $250/month for a dedicated desk, fast wifi, and human interaction. Worth every penny for mental health.
The homestead exemption is now $100K off school taxes after the 2023 amendment. If you own a home and haven't filed for homestead, you're leaving thousands on the table.
Germany is the real growth story. The engagement level there is insane. German fans tailgate, wear jerseys, and know the roster better than some American fans.
Both teams guaranteed a possession in the regular season too. Not just playoffs. If it is fair enough for a conference championship, it is fair enough for Week 6.
200+ applications for the first role is not an exaggeration. I tracked mine: 247 applications, 18 phone screens, 6 on-sites, 2 offers. The job search is a full-time job.
