Arlington. Two kids. Coaches little league.
My wife dragged me to the Netflix series and I ended up watching the entire thing in two days. The dedication those women show is honestly more impressive than most things I see from the actual football team.
The Netflix documentary was incredible. It completely changed how I viewed the cheerleaders. The athletic demands are insane. These are elite dancers and athletes.
That Week 14 game was the best atmosphere I have experienced at AT&T Stadium in years. When Parsons got the third sack the place erupted. You could feel the floor shaking.
The 45% number on three players is staggering. Even if all three are elite, you cannot build a 53-man roster when nearly half your money goes to three guys.
Super Bowl XXVII is the gold standard. 52-17 with 9 turnovers forced. That roster was maybe the greatest team ever assembled.
Jackie Smith dropping that TD in the Super Bowl is the most painful play in franchise history. A catch and the Cowboys win their third straight Super Bowl. Instead we lost to Pittsburgh.
Parsons 58.4 run defense grade is alarming but also expected. You do not pay a guy $28M to set the edge. You pay him to get sacks. The roster around him needs to handle the run.
Texas Live is good but it gets overpriced on game days. $12 beers and $18 burgers. Stick to Wild Pitch for value.
Top 10 is fair. He is better than Cousins, better than Goff, probably better than Hurts. But he is not Mahomes, Allen, or Lamar. That tier is locked.
The EPA data supports this but the eye test does not always. There are moments where Dak looks lost in the pocket and no stat captures that feeling.
The safety pick in round 2 is my favorite selection. That 4.42 speed with the coverage instincts is exactly what this defense has been missing since the Darren Woodson era.
Whatever happens, the tailgating culture at the current stadium is irreplaceable. Those parking lots on a Sunday morning are sacred ground.
If public money is involved I will be at every city council meeting. Arlington already gave Jerry $325M and the economic impact studies were wildly optimistic. Source: Brookings Institution stadium financing study.
Tyler Smith is the future of this line. Move him to left tackle where his athleticism is maximized and draft a guard in round 1.
Lamb is worth every penny. Without him this offense would be unwatchable. He is the only reason defenses cannot stack the box.
Post-game tailgating is the real pro tip here. I used to fight traffic for 90 minutes. Now I crack another beer, listen to the postgame radio show, and leave when the lot is half empty.
The pressure rate is the key stat. 22.4% is absurd. That means roughly 1 in every 4-5 dropbacks he is getting to the quarterback. Source: PFF pressure rates since 2021.
Ware did it in an era where offensive tackles were better. The 2010s had elite left tackles across the league. Parsons benefits from more scheme creativity getting him free rushes.
The offensive line is the root cause. Fix the interior, the passing game opens up, the run game gets functional, and suddenly everything looks different.
The 3rd-and-long playcalling was maddening all season. You have CeeDee Lamb and you are running draws on 3rd-and-8. Offensive coordinator has to go.
The coaching salaries are wild. Head coach at a top 6A program in DFW makes more than most college assistant coaches. Because winning state is THAT important here.
Southlake Carroll on a Friday night is what people outside Texas cannot comprehend. The entire city of 30,000 is at that stadium. Businesses close early.
The property tax thing is the biggest surprise for most transplants. No income tax sounds amazing until you see your first property tax bill. ALWAYS protest your appraisal.
If you hate paperwork, Ownwell does it for 25% of savings. They only charge if they win. I use them every year. Worth it for the convenience.
Playoff series between these teams are always wars of attrition. 6+ game series, physical play, low-scoring games. It is old-school hockey and I love it.
The coaching alignment between the AHL and NHL is underrated. When a player gets called up, they already know the power play formations and defensive schemes. That seamless transition is a competitive advantage.
