Arlington. Two kids. Coaches little league.
Letting Brunson walk is unforgivable. He is averaging 27 points per game in New York and we replaced him with nothing. That decision set this franchise back.
Victory Park during the 2024 Finals was something I will never forget. The streets were packed with fans watching on screens, cheering together. Dallas felt like a basketball city for the first time since 2011.
The 2024 Finals loss to Boston was a defensive loss. The Celtics shot 48% from three in the series. You are not beating that regardless of how many points Luka scores.
Every champion in 20 years has been top-10 in defense. That stat alone should tell the front office everything. Offense wins games, defense wins championships is a cliche because it is true.
Rick Carlisle as coach is the right call. The 2011 Finals adjustments — switching to zone defense against the Heat, the Kidd-at-center lineup — were some of the best coaching decisions in NBA Finals history.
Rolando Blackman at SG is correct and it is nice to see him get recognition. 16,643 points and most fans under 40 have never heard of him. A Dallas legend who deserves more respect.
Kyrie\'s catch-and-shoot at 44.2% is ridiculous. He is basically a cheat code when Luka draws the double and kicks it out. That efficiency is historically good.
Lakewood Growler is the low-key best option. No crowd, great beer, game is always on. If you want to actually watch basketball without screaming over people, this is it.
Luxury tax at $65M is steep. The new ownership needs to commit to paying that for the next 3-4 years while Luka and Kyrie are in their primes. If they cheap out, the window closes.
Sweeping the defending champion Lakers is the part people forget. Kobe, Pau, Bynum, Odom — and Dallas swept them like they were a lottery team. Dirk had 28 per game.
Stars games are genuinely louder than Mavs games and it is not close. Playoff hockey at AAC is the loudest sporting event in DFW, including Cowboys games at AT&T. I will die on this hill.
The Timberwolves series was where I started truly believing. Down 20 in Game 1 and then winning 4 straight against that defense. The adjustments were elite coaching.
Defense is the issue and always has been. You cannot be the best player in the league if you are a minus defender. Jokic figured it out. Luka needs to.
The elote in a cup is a sleeper pick. $8 for something that actually tastes like real Mexican street corn and not stadium garbage. Highly recommend.
The Jimmy Johnson trade chart is outdated. The modern chart from PFF adjusts for the CBA rookie wage scale and the values shift significantly. Under the modern chart, trading back is even more advantageous.
Always get authentication. My uncle bought a "signed" Emmitt Smith helmet at a flea market for $100. Took it to Beckett and it was fake. $100 lesson.
Special teams is always the afterthought and it should not be. The difference between 8-9 and 10-7 is special teams. The difference between a wild card and missing the playoffs is special teams.
Washington is the team I am most worried about long-term. Their young core is developing fast and they have cap space to add pieces. In 2-3 years they could be the division favorite.
The parking cost is criminal. $75 to park on asphalt in Arlington. Meanwhile Mavs games you can find free street parking in Victory Park after 6 PM.
Jerry gets too much blame and too much credit for draft picks. The reality is somewhere in the middle. He has a good scouting staff and mostly lets them do their job.
The soft middle is a trap. The Cowboys have a long history of playing down to bad opponents. Those Panthers and Titans games are not automatic wins.
Six touchdowns allowed in coverage is brutal. Even with the excuse of being a young player, that number has to drop significantly or we are looking at another bottom-10 pass defense.
The common thread is Jerry Jones as GM. Every coach has the same ceiling because the personnel decisions come from the top. That is not a coaching problem.
Bring a hat and sunscreen. I got destroyed by the sun sitting in those bleachers for 3 hours. No shade on the spectator side.
Went to Oxnard camp in 2024 and it was an amazing experience. Got Parsons to sign my jersey after the afternoon session. The afternoon practice tip is real — maybe 200 people compared to 2000 in the morning.
My wife dragged me to the Netflix series and I ended up watching the entire thing in two days. The dedication those women show is honestly more impressive than most things I see from the actual football team.
