Arlington. Two kids. Coaches little league.
The safety pick in round 2 is my favorite selection. That 4.42 speed with the coverage instincts is exactly what this defense has been missing since the Darren Woodson era.
Whatever happens, the tailgating culture at the current stadium is irreplaceable. Those parking lots on a Sunday morning are sacred ground.
If public money is involved I will be at every city council meeting. Arlington already gave Jerry $325M and the economic impact studies were wildly optimistic. Source: Brookings Institution stadium financing study.
Tyler Smith is the future of this line. Move him to left tackle where his athleticism is maximized and draft a guard in round 1.
You cannot pay a QB $55M and a WR $34M and expect to have a complete roster. That is $89M on two players. The math does not work under the salary cap.
Texas Live is the cheat code for bathrooms. Walk over there, use the nice facilities, grab a drink, walk back. Way better than the alternative.
Lot 4 is the move. The energy in that lot on a Sunday morning is better than some actual games. People go ALL out with the setups.
Ware did it in an era where offensive tackles were better. The 2010s had elite left tackles across the league. Parsons benefits from more scheme creativity getting him free rushes.
The offensive line is the root cause. Fix the interior, the passing game opens up, the run game gets functional, and suddenly everything looks different.
The 3rd-and-long playcalling was maddening all season. You have CeeDee Lamb and you are running draws on 3rd-and-8. Offensive coordinator has to go.
The coaching salaries are wild. Head coach at a top 6A program in DFW makes more than most college assistant coaches. Because winning state is THAT important here.
Southlake Carroll on a Friday night is what people outside Texas cannot comprehend. The entire city of 30,000 is at that stadium. Businesses close early.
Arlington having no public transit for a city of 400K is genuinely insane. They voted it down TWICE. The Jerry Jones effect.
California has weather. Texas has everything else. Signed, a 2023 transplant who has zero regrets.
Tarrant County folks: TAD is aggressive on initial appraisals but the informal hearing adjusters are reasonable. Bring your comps printed out.
Average score of 3.1 to 2.8 tells you everything. This is not flashy hockey. It is competitive, tight, and every shift matters. The best kind of rivalry.
The North Stars relocation history adds a layer to this rivalry that no other matchup in hockey has. Minnesota fans genuinely resent Dallas for taking their team. That resentment fuels every game.
8 players graduating from the Texas Stars to the NHL roster in 3 years shows the pipeline is working. Developing talent internally is cheaper and more sustainable than free agency.
14.2 blocked passes per game is a wild stat. That is not just shot blocking -- it is disrupting the opponent's entire offensive flow. Active sticks in lanes force dump-ins instead of controlled entries.
Minnesota being the state of hockey is real. The fans at Xcel Energy Center know the sport better than any other fanbase. Respectful but intense. Great hockey atmosphere.
Nashville is the correct number one. The city is phenomenal and Bridgestone Arena is a great hockey building. We did a Stars road trip there last February and it was the best sports weekend I have ever had.
The towel wave during playoffs is visually incredible from inside the arena. 18,000 towels creates a sea of white. On TV it looks cool. In person, it is overwhelming.
Pantera as the goal song is perfection. A Dallas band playing after a Dallas goal. The authenticity of that connection is unmatched in the NHL. Every other team is jealous.
Cross-ice one-timers being the hardest shot for goalies is basic hockey physics. The lateral movement across the crease is nearly impossible to execute in time. The fact that the Stars were not using this before December is baffling.
DART for Stars games is the way. I park at Mockingbird Station for free, ride to Victory Station in 10 minutes, and never deal with traffic or parking. The total cost is $5 round trip vs. $25 for a garage.
The top-6 winger addition is exactly what this team needed. Another legitimate scoring threat means opposing teams cannot focus their entire defensive scheme on one line. The first-round pick cost hurts but you have to pay to win.
