Dirk is locked in at the 4 and nobody can argue that. 21 years, one team, an MVP, a ring, and a Finals MVP. The greatest Maverick ever and probably the greatest international player in NBA history.
Luka takes the point guard spot for me even though his career isn't done. What he's doing at his age is insane. Kidd was great here but his best years were in New Jersey and Luka is already the better player.
Shooting guard is Rolando Blackman and I will die on this hill. Four-time All-Star, over 16,000 points as a Maverick, and criminally underrated because he played on bad teams. If he played today he'd be a 25 PPG scorer easy.
Small forward is tough. I'm going Mark Aguirre for the scoring but you could argue Michael Finley for the two-way play. Aguirre averaged 24.6 in his peak — that's elite.
Center is Tyson Chandler. Short stint but the 2011 championship doesn't happen without him. His rim protection and rebounding were the missing piece.
Drop your lineup if you disagree. And yes I know I left Jason Terry off the starting 5 — he's the 6th man and that's perfect for him.
Rolando Blackman at SG is correct and it is nice to see him get recognition. 16,643 points and most fans under 40 have never heard of him. A Dallas legend who deserves more respect.
